 | The first race meeting of 2012 in NSW (until mid March) is only roughly one and a half months away when the first Formula Xtreme Road Racing Club (FXRRC) level race meeting kicks off at Wakefield Park Raceway on the 11th -12th of February and we would like to invite you to compete in it. The Sup Regs and Entry Forms can be found at the bottom of this story.
We have a long history of putting on professionally run and excellent value affordable events that are also great fun mainly because of the huge amount of track time riders get. These club level race meetings will be run to the same standards; even though they are club level events they are still designed to cater for all levels of rider, so if you are a first timer or an A grader please read on.
I will briefly explain what the new two round club level series is about and what you get. These will be two day events with Saturday being a practice day with each class getting five (5) x 15 minute sessions. Sunday will see a 15 minute qualifying session and four (4) races per class. Competitors can enter each day or both days of the event, so if you can only make either Saturday or Sunday then that is fine as well. Our aim is to have separate A&B and C&D grade races so riders get to race against other riders of equal ability. If you are a C or D grader on a 1000 cc or a 600cc bike then you can also cross enter into the A & B grade races which will give you eight (8) races on the day.
We have introduced a couple of new classes to cater for competitors with older model race bikes, below is a brief explanation of these two classes.
Formula Xtreme Classic
Prior to 1997 almost all big bike racing was 750cc Superbike, from 1997 on to 2003 the single largest big bike class in Australia was Formula Xtreme. Many of these bikes from that era are now being club raced or used at ride days so we decided that we should reintroduce the class so these bikes can compete against each other once again and be point scored separately from the more modern and higher spec 1000’s. Why did we cut off at 2003 model year? Basically most bikes from 2004 on took a quantum leap in design, plus 2003 was the last year of Formula Xtreme Series prior to joining up with the ASC.
FX 600 Retro
Same as with the Formula Xtreme Classic class there are plenty of these older model 600’s on tracks today that are very competitive with each other. Prior to 2005 most of the bikes were quite equal so that is why we made 05 as the cut off date. Again eligible bikes will be separately point scored from other more modern 600’s and receive their own trophys.
The Classes
The rest of our classes reflect what most people race today capacity and class wise, the classes cater for everyone from a 125GP bike, Motards, 400’s through to BEARS, Pro-Twins, Nakedbikes, 600’s and 1000’s. On purpose, we have not introduced any fixed technical rules other than capacity and in some cases the year model because these events are aimed at being fun club level racing with the least amount of hassle for everyone.
What you get
Check out the Sup Regs and you will find that we have kept the entry cost for the two day event at 2011 club level entry costs to make this as financially attractive as possible for all levels of competitors. Add that to the number of times you will get on the track over two days (five times on Saturday and between four and eight times on Sunday if you cross enter) and I think most riders will see excellent value in what we are offering.
FXRRC & Competition License Information ...A full One Year National Competition License For Only $100.
We will have up on the FX website early in the New Year registration forms for the Formula Xtreme Road Racing Club for 2012 along with what other bonuses your will get by registering with us. On top of that if you join you will be eligible to purchase a 12 month AASA National competition license for only $100 inc gst, which is a massive saving over a MNSW license. With a AASA license you can use it to enter any AFX-SBK or FXRRC round or any motorcycle race meeting at Wakefield Park or to do the Eastern Creek private track days (not ride days). All of this is aimed at keeping costs down for competitors at a time when everything else cost wise is going up. For more information on the FXRRC club days and or getting a AASA competition license please contact me on 0419448452 in business hours prior to the 25th of December or after the 9th January or email me on admin@aus-superbikes.com.au .
We are very much looking forward to 2012 and hope to see you at Wakefield Park Raceway on the weekend of the 11th and 12th of February for the first round of the 2012 Formula Xtreme Road Racing Club level series.
