I live in North Queensland,
The closest track is almost 1000km away.
Look at my options
If I freight the bike to the track it costs about $1000 return. Air fares to Brisbane up to $600 return
add 2 or 3 nights accommodation and a rental car for 3 days and another $450 flutters away.
If I decide to ride down I basically ned to take a week off work, about $250 or more in fuel
5 or 6 nights accommodation at about $100 per night
Food works out to be about $60 per day ( remember its all take away or resturant stuff.
Normally I will need a tyre before or after the trackday for the ride home.
In reality the trackday cost to me is close to $1200 or more.
and you guys bich about a couple of hundred dollars.??
Who you should be bitching to is our respective State Governments for spending millions qnd millions of dollars each year on throwaway street circuits so that the V8 supercars can make a shoitload of money and leave almost nothing behind but rubbish.
The Government's money would be better spent and better enjoyed by many more Australians by making an investment in assisting to maintain regional tracks or even building another track or 2 or more to run the V8s because of the good legacy it would leave behind.
