Right about now many competitors will be deciding where they will race in early July either at the ASBK at Broadford Raceway in country Victoria or the AFXC at Eastern Creek Raceway in NSW. I invite all competitors to check out the entry fee cost tables below between both the ASBK and the AFXC series and then look at what you get for your hard earned money.

And of course at our events you can choose between racing either Saturday at the FX Nationals rounds or Sunday at the AFXC, or both days.

Below is a story we first put up in early March providing a cost comparison between entering the AFXC and the ASBK series in 2010. We decided to provide this cost comparison for competitors because IEG and MA decided to change their dates so a number of them clashed with our already announced dates. Because of their last minute date clashes unfortunately both series are competing in some cases for the same competitors. Because of this I decided I would provide competitors with an easy table to compare costs.

Add to the massive cost savings that the majority of competitors receive competing at the AFXC series along with the huge amount of track time and the exceptional TV coverage all classes get at our series then for most competitors the benefits are more then obvious.

Again I invite all competitors to again compare what they get at both series and the value for money.

Just check out the comparison table at the bottom of the story. Our table is slightly out now as a last minute change for the first Queensland round has seen Historics added to the schedule. I believe their entry fees are roughly about half the price of everyone else's.

cheers,
Terry

2010 ASBK & AFXC
Cost Comparison Guide

Below is a comparison guide for entry fees, garage fees, practice days, credit card charges, number of races per round per class etc between the ASBK and the AFXC series for 2010.

To the best of our knowledge we have got this information guide correct, we have used both the ASBK's and the AFXC's series Sup Regs as the source of information.

In the number of races section for the Broadford double header at the ASBK the number of races has a question mark alongside them, reason being we think what they have in the ASBK Sup Regs is a mistake and there are more races but the document doesn't show that.
We are also not sure what the exact break down of the fees for the Broadford double header is as this is very confusing how it is presented and there are a number of points that seem to contradict each other through out the ASBK Sup Regs.

We have tried very hard to get it right based on what their Series Sup Regs say.

The ASBK is at most events a two day event (Sat / Sun) with a optional practice day on Friday and a official practice day on the Thursday. At the Double header it looks like the Wednesday is the practice day. This means competitors can do four days per round on average, as history has shown most competitors always do the maximum number of allowable days at each round so we have added the fourth days fees in. If a competitor only wants to do three days at the ASBK just take off $225 from the total shown.

At the combined AFXC and FX Nationals series in 2010 our events are either One or Two day events (Sat / Sun) with an optional Friday practice day. So our events are potentially up to three days each. Just as with the ASBK rounds we have added in all the available days so have called our events a 3 day event as far as entry fees go.

But as many of you would know by now at our events you can pick which days you want to race so there are a number of options.

Again to the best of our knowledge we have got this guide right but the ASBK Sup Regs and even the Entry Form is quite often confusing and contradictory. We invite IEG to clarify what their double header fees are and any possible errors we might have made along with the number of races etc so everyone knows exactly what they are.

Why have we produced this comparison guide?

We have stated many times that we believe that the 2010 AFXC series is the most cost effective and affordable series at a Australian Motorcycle Road Racing Championship level in Australia. This information allows you to gauge for yourself what you get for your entry dollar in both series.

We have not gone down the path of comparing tyre bills or travel bills at both series even though we strongly believe again any comparison for the majority of competitors would show our series is more affordable, mainly because the number of tyres and how much it costs to travel to each round can change in each individual case, but entry fees / practice fees should be a fixed item, same for the number of races, credit card charges etc.

We invite you to read both the ASBK Sup Regs (available at www.ma.org.au) and the AFXC Sup Regs (available on this website) and compare for yourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to read what is presented and compare at a glance what Australian Championship series best suits your racing needs in 2010.

Regards,
Terry O'Neill
